This February there are some awesome events to help carry us over until Spring arrives!
My Top Picks for February:
Feb 1st - May 25th: The Dalì Universe:
The Renaissance is everywhere you turn in Florence, and I doubt it could ever get old, but its always nice to see exhibitions in Florence focusing on non-renaissance art to keep us on our toes. This exhibit dedicated to Dalì in the Medici Palace looks like it has some really fascinating pieces. I'm especially interested to see the bronze melting clock sculpture pictured on the website!
Feb 8 - 17: Chocolate Festival!
One of my absolute favorite annual events, the chocolate festival in Piazza Santa Croce brightens up any cold February day! I can't wait to see what creations the chocoalte artisans will come up with this year! Print out the flyer for discounts at all the stands. (For a quick teaser, take a look at my post about the festival a couple years ago!)
Carnevale:
Celebrations are taking place around Tuscany all month! Take a look at this article from The Florentine about various celebrations. I'm hoping to make it to Viareggio this year since I've never seen the Carnevale celebration there. Of course I'll also be celebrating at the Monkey Bar Wig Party on Feb 8 & 9!

That Dalí exhibit sounds fantastic! He's one of my favorite artists, and the Palazzo Medici was really interesting just on its own the last time I was there. Hopefully I can make it to Florence sometime soon and see this! :)

ReplyDeletethis looks amazing. the chocolate festival sounds right up my alley!! i would kill to go. ugh. i miss tuscany. the only "festival" i've been to was the gelato festival in florence, it was deeelish! i had so much fun.
